2022: A Year of Growing Excitement
PH Pianos announces several exciting projects it will embark on this calendar year. In his video message about everything from new piano editions and models, exciting commissions, showroom updates, and new product launches, the Founder and CEO of PH Pianos & PH Furniture, Søren Vincents Svendsen shares his passion and the company’s goals.
Over the last two years, the company has seen incredible market growth and audience expansion. It is this worldwide enthusiasm that has confirmed for Svendsen that our development projects are timed perfectly.
“I started PH Pianos about ten years ago, with the PH Grand Piano I had purchased at auction. I could see amazing potential in the revival of Poul Henningsen’s incredible piano designs,” Svendsen explains. “Now, we are having requests for the unique Poul Henningsen designed pianos from all over the world, and we have grown to meet the expanding market with the full collection of all PH Pianos.”
OUR SHOWROOM
In the heart of Copenhagen’s design district, just steps from the King’s Square and Royal Residence and the Designmuseum Danmark, our showroom has long held the distinction of ‘best location in the city.’ It is a large space with a façade of windows facing Bredgade, and we showcase some of Denmark’s best-known artists on the walls and the full collection of Poul Henningsen’s piano designs, and several of his iconic furniture pieces in the front showroom.
“Our ambitious projects, which are already underway need more space to be shown,” Svendsen shares. “In order to house our new projects and the full collection of all PH Pianos as well as the PH Furniture pieces, we have commenced work on a showroom expansion to use more space at our address on Bredgade.”
“We will also build up facilities for video recording and music studios so that artists can come and do recordings on our pianos. I would like to take this opportunity to encourage artists and pianists from all over the world to visit us.”
This is the only place in the world where one can experience the full collection of Poul Henningsen’s pianos. And, in 2022, several new arrivals will command attention.
NEW PIANOS
2022 is a year for big announcements in the piano. Svendsen shares about the new Curated edition for all piano models, new sizes of PH Upright pianos, about another model of the beautiful PH Bow Grand Piano, and a totally new design from the house itself.
PH Pianos are not linked or associated with any specific, traditional piano brand. Svendsen explains: “PH Pianos consists of a number of different piano models and a broad range of editions that can satisfy different customer preferences. Most of the PH Piano editions are being handcrafted in-house by ourselves, and only by use of European materials and piano action of highest quality.”
The PH Upright
“The PH Upright is really the most beautiful and elegant upright piano on the market. We are going to introduce new customizations related to Scandinavian and Nordic nature,” Svendsen says. “We are going introducing new, bigger sizes of the Upright Piano. And, inspired by the sensibilities and colors of our part of the world, we are going to introduce new customization options for these models, with the full collection of upright pianos, designed by Poul Henningsen, in our showroom in 2022.”
A New PH Bow Grand Model
“We are going to launch a new edition of the stunning PH Bow Grand Piano. We launched the first model of the PH Bow Grand just a few years ago, and it has been extremely well-received in the market,” shares Svendsen. Poul Henningsen’s 1937 design of the PH Bow Grand Piano is now being featured in publications worldwide, and customer requests have ranged from new sizes of instruments, to innovations in incorporated technology for new audio and more.
“We add further to this line of pianos with some new features and new design elements that Poul Henningsen did himself in other versions in 1937.”
The Curated Edition
Already establishing ourselves as the number one destination for genuinely designed and finest quality musical instruments, we are taking the piano designs to a new level with the Curated Edition.
“The real beauty of any PH Piano lies on the inside and the Curated Edition will add further value to the piano as an investment piece. We already know that it’s going to be a major step forward,” Svendsen explains. “It combines the key ingredients of the most outstanding piano designs—those of Poul Henningsen—and sound qualities available in the world. The Curated Edition adds to the philosophy that PH Pianos are not linked to any specific, traditional piano brand. PH Pianos go beyond the traditional “black box” but will always be made with piano action from the finest options on the market.”
And, A New Piano Design
After several years of development, Svendsen shares that in 2022 the company is announcing a new piano design. “I’m so happy that finally, I can share with you that we have been working on a new piano design for the last couple of years. It’s going to be groundbreaking piano design.” With further details to be shared later this year, Svendsen continues, “our plans for this new piano design build on the legacy of piano design. We want to bring this finest of musical instruments into the 21st century with our new design.”
The Piano Box
“Authenticity is everything” comments Svendsen in his introduction to the Piano Box. “The four piano models by renowned designer Poul Henningsen are genuine design pieces that come with a legacy. Today, we are PH Pianos because we hold the exclusive and worldwide license for production, marketing and sales of all PH Pianos.” Each PH piano is the culmination of rigorously considered design, and that is why the instruments are still so timeless and innovative, even while being first imagined in the 1930s.
We have designed our new Piano Box to contain the important documents that come with each of our handcrafted pianos and the Piano Box is handcrafted as well with so many details in the craftsmanship.

Expansion to Audio
“We are very excited going from pianos into the development of new speakers in close collaboration with our daughter company ToneArt Interior, that holds the exclusive and worldwide license for all furniture pieces designed by Poul Henningsen.” Acknowledging the importance of music in daily life in the 21st century, it is a natural development to launch this new line of products that beautifully express the art of sound.
“We just launched our new speaker collection. Its groundbreaking design is crafted in collaboration with a Swedish speaker company and a boutique Swedish glass-blowing company. We have selected six color themes to symbolize the unforgettable beauty of Nordic nature and our speakers are the perfect combination of Danish design, Swedish craftsmanship and Nordic nature.” The speakers are sculptural pieces of art that draw the eye and please the ear. On prominent display in our showroom, one can experience their excellent sound quality in person.
