Purchase of the first, old PH Grand Piano

Acquisition of Copenhagen Piano
2010
Acquisition of the company Copenhagen Piano A/S. Copenhagen Piano has for many years been a traditional piano dealership with piano workshop and the full collection of Blüthner and Irmler. The piano store is located with large premises and showroom in the heart of Copenhagen. The address has been the home of pianos for several decades. Today, Copenhagen Piano also hosts several state-of-the-art music studios where some of the most established and promising Danish musicians and artists are having their daily base.
Acquisition of the exclusive piano license
2010
Acquisition by Copenhagen Piano of the worldwide exclusive license to produce, market and sell all piano models designed by Poul Henningsen from the estate / family of the designer behind all PH Piano models
Development of the new PH Grand Piano
2011
Commence of development and production of the first new PH Grand Piano model Excellence and size 186cm long. The work is carried out on behalf of Copenhagen Piano by the most esteemed German piano maker, Blüthner in Leipzig.
ToneArt / PH Pianos
2011
Setting up the company ToneArt A/S / PH Pianos as a sister company of Copenhagen Piano. The home of ToneArt / PH Pianos is the same as Copenhagen Piano. Former CEO of Carlsberg, Flemming Lindeløv, is appointed chairman of the board and is still serving today in this role of the company. The worldwide and exclusive license to all PH Pianos is transferred from Copenhagen Piano to ToneArt.
Launch of No1 PH Grand Piano in Copenhagen
2011
Introduction of No1 PH Grand Piano, PH186 Excellence edition on behalf of ToneArt / PH Pianos. No 1 PH186 Excellence is purchased by Hotel Bella Sky in Copenhagen and a large event takes place at the Sky Bar to celebrate the launch of the first new PH Grand Piano by ToneArt / PH Pianos. This is the first time that the Danish design icon, the PH Grand Piano, is made with a superb material quality and an outstanding sound quality. It is the perfect match between Danish design and German craftsmanship.

Establishing Copenhagen Design House. Copenhagen Design House is the “umbrella” name encompassing Copenhagen Piano, ToneArt / PH Pianos and ToneArt Interior / PH Furniture in addition to Art Gallery Copenhagen that holds a contemporary and exclusive gallery at the home of our companies in the heart of Copenhagen and on the same street as all major Danish galleries, furniture flagship stores as well as Designmuseum Danmark.
ToneArt Interior / PH Furniture
2014
Setting up the daughter company ToneArt Interior ApS / PH Furniture. Acquisition by ToneArt Interior ApS of the worldwide exclusive license and rights to produce, market and sell all furniture pieces designed by Poul Henningsen on behalf of the estate of the Poul Henningsen Family.
Launch of a small size PH Grand Piano
2017
Introduction of the first new PH Grand Piano model PH150 Excellence edition (baby grand size 150cm long). This model is like the PH186 model also crafted on behalf of PH Pianos by the Blüthner piano factory.
Introduction of furniture designed by Poul Henningsen
2018
Introduction of a full collection of PH Furniture pieces designed by Poul Henningsen between 1919 and until 1954. The collection consists of 18 different furniture products in addition to the PH Mirror-lamp. In total, a three-digit number of furniture and interior articles is being introduced. Launch of the PH Furniture collection together with the PH Grand Piano Excellence edition takes place at the exclusive and prestigious home and interior store in Scandinavia, Illums Bolighus Copenhagen.
Launch of the first PH Bow Grand Piano
2018
Introduction of the first newly made PH Bow Grand Piano cabinet, which was designed in 1937. The first model is crafted by PH Pianos around the basis of a restored piano frame by the Danish piano company that used to make pianos designed by Poul Henningsen in the 1930s. This first model of the PH Bow Grand Piano is made with a new cabinet in chestnut veneer according to the original design and old drawings by Poul Henningsen.
The digital PH Pianette
2019
Introduction of the first prototype of the PH Pianette with digital technology. It is made by PH Pianos in full accordance with the original design from 1935 of the PH Pianette, which at that time was made with acoustic spinet action. This type of action is no longer in production by any piano maker in the world.
PH Book - 336 pages of documentary
2020
Launch of the 336 pages large PH Book: PH Furniture & Pianos - The Revival of Poul Henningsen Design Classics. It is the first complete documentation and illustration of the furniture and pianos designed by Poul Henningsen throughout his lifetime. More years of work including text writing, photo shooting, layout, and printing lays behind this first edition of the PH Book.

We are extending our showroom facilities in the very heart of Copenhagen, including new, permanent facilities for photo shooting, audio- and video-recording. We’re encouraging all piano artists to contact us and discuss opportunities for recording on PH Pianos with us.
The expansion of our showroom facilities will also enable us to share much more content with our many followers and potential customers around the world. We will always - as the only place in the world - host the full collection of all PH Pianos and stunning audio products as well as all the furniture products by PH Furniture. Through this expansion, we can further extend our ability to showcase these incredible designs.
PH Pianos Curated Edition

We are launching the next edition of PH Pianos: the “Curated Edition.” In this edition, we take the genuinely designed and fine musical PH Pianos to an even finer level of detail. The curated edition will add further value to the PH Piano as an investment that yields lots of daily joy and excitement for several generations of the family!
New PH Upright Pianos

We will house the full collection of upright pianos designed by Poul Henningsen. We are introducing new, bigger sizes of the PH Upright Piano and new options for customization that are reminiscent of Scandinavian and Nordic nature, colors and sensibilities.
Commissioned Editions

We will commence work with renowned designers in the customization of PH Pianos, and we will launch the first stunning models of the PH Upright Piano in a unique collaboration between PH Pianos and a very renowned American designer.
Very excitedly, we’re launching the Commissioned Edition of PH Pianos and we are honored to share that we already have the first orders from customers. This is a major step forward for the unique PH design, and based on the most outstanding piano- and sound qualities- on the market today.
