The PH Grand Piano at The Scandinavian
The Scandinavian
Located twenty-five minutes north of Copenhagen, The Scandinavian provides world class golf facilities across thirty-six holes designed by S. Bruce Charlton, lead designer at Robert Trent Jones Architects. Set in two hundred hectares of forest, The Scandinavian is a tranquil oasis of calm. The club is home to a clubhouse, restaurant and guest house in addition to the exceptional landscape and golf courses.
Contemporary art
Henning Larsen Architects envisioned the award-winning design for the clubhouse at The Scandinavian. The clubhouse offers stunning views over both golf courses and houses an extensive collection of contemporary art, including works by Ai Weiwei, Yoshitomo Nara, Ugo Rondinone, Franz West and Sterling Ruby.
The PH Grand Piano
The clubhouse at The Scandinavian is also home to another piece of fine art: a Poul Henningsen designed PH Grand Piano. The PH Grand Piano is simply the perfect musical instrument to complement the carefully curated setting inside this unique venue. The PH Grand Piano delivers far more than piano music of the purest sonic clarity: the sculptural form of the PH Grand Piano is a reflection of both the clean lines and the striking geometric angles of the building in which it is located. The PH Grand Piano’s translucent lid and minimal structure ensures that the piano enhances the spectacular views from the building rather than obscuring them, while the tactile materials used to construct the PH Grand Piano are in synergy with those that are part of the wider interiors scheme.
As one of Europe’s finest luxury golf clubs, The Scandinavian extends a sense of warm hospitality to its members and their guests and the presence of the PH Grand Piano proudly sets the tone.
