Destination: Bredgade

Our showroom is found in one of the very best locations in Copenhagen.

If you are like almost every visitor to Copenhagen, you almost certainly ride your bicycle (or rent one while you are here) through the city, riding along the many canals, visiting shops and sights, and getting a feeling for this wonderful city. Some prefer to use the clean and very convenient public transport system, with metro lines, trains and busses, but all find their way to the most photographed part of the city: Nyhavn.

Right next to Nyhavn

Copenhagen is one of the world’s beloved cities, and its most famous photos are taken at the historic harbour, Nyhavn. Located in the ‘old town' of Copenhagen, Nyhavn’s colorful buildings and picturesque variety of boats has long been the center of the mercantile activities that are also the economic roots of this city.

Just a hundred meters from Nyhavn, you can visit our showroom on Bredgade, a beautiful street with some of the city’s best shopping, galleries, and important city sights.

Bredgade, the street that begins at Kongens Nytorv (the King’s Square) and ends at Kastellet-- a historical military barrack shaped like a pentagon-- is home to the Marble Church (Marmorkirken) and Amalienborg, which is the royal residence of the Queen and of the Crown Prince’s family. The King’s Square (Kongens Nytorv) is bordered by:

- the amazing department store Magasin du Nord

- the 5-star hotel D’Angleterre

- the King’s Royal Theater which houses the ballet, operas, and musicals, and

- the iconic Nyhavn, a canal lined with some of Copenhagen’s oldest buildings and picturesque boats

Our Showroom

About 100 meters from Nyhavn, along Bredgade, you will find our large showroom. In an historic building with 4.5 meter ceilings, very large windows, and a welcoming gallery-like space, we host the full collection of Poul Henningsen’s furniture and piano designs. We are experts in these incredible design pieces, which were first designed from 1919-1954, and we hold the worldwide exclusive license to produce and market these pieces.

Although the full collection can be viewed on our website 24 hours a day, our showroom is open Monday to Friday, from 10 am until 6 pm.

Atmosphere at Bredgade

The streets around Nyhavn, particularly those on Bredgade, are the most coveted addresses in the city, and our neighbors include renowned artists and top galleries, fashion designers, interiors products, “it-list” hotels and restaurants. Cozy cafes open first thing in the morning, providing fuel for a day of the most wonderful sights.

Beyond the design and art destinations on Bredgade, many beautiful scenes light up the street each year. The beautiful Christmas decorations that hang all over Nyhavn and Kongens Nytorv continue all the way up Bredgade, bringing lots of festivity for the wintery months. Danish flags decorate throughout the year on holidays and birthdays, and almost every night, cafes and restaurants twinkle with candlelight at the doorsteps.

Royal Life Guard

Events

Every day around noon the Royal Life Guard marches from their barracks towards the royal residence, right in front of our showroom. The parade includes musicians whenever the Queen is in Copenhagen.

Twice a year, Copenhagen Jazz Festival hosts hundreds of concerts, with many happening around Nyhavn on our block. Other concerts and pop-up events, held in our showroom and in those of our neighbors can be heard frequently. Major art events which are hosted on our street and in Nyhavn, such as Enter Art Fair, 3 Days of Design, and the many activities at the Danish Design Museum all add vibrancy to our amazing location.

Visit Us

We look forward to welcoming you into our showroom in the center of Copenhagen. Whether the visit is during the Christmas markets, in the summer and fall for art and design events, or year-round for musical shows at the theaters or concerts at smaller venues, you can find us in the heart of it all.
